1. What is N.W.C.A.R.E.?

   Northwest C.A.R.E. is an association comprised of local, licensed home child care providers.  We have members in Barkhamsted, East Hartland, Harwinton, Morris, New Hartford, Torrington, and Winsted, CT.  This organization is open to all licensed home day care providers in Northwest Connecticut.

2. What are the benefits of being a N.W.C.A.R.E member?

   As a member of N.W.C.A.R.E. you will be offered classes pretaining to child care, receive referrals from our list of active members, have access to a wealth of knowledge from other providers, gather ideas to take back and implement in your own home day care setting, have access to yearly cpr/first aid and medication classes, and enjoy meeting with guest speakers and fellow members at monthly meetings.

   Family Day Care is, professional child care in a home setting. This offers each child a consistent, small group environment in wich to grow and thrive.

   Family day care offers a home like setting, a small group environment, a consistent caregiver, can accomodate age mix of children, allowing siblings to be cared for tgether, is flexible and adaptable to parents work schedule, is neighborhood based, convenient, and economical, has a wide variey of choice of homes and lifestyles, and has the flexibility to meet each child's needs and interests during the day.

Connecticut Licensed Family Day Care Provides

1. What are the requirements for home day care providers in Connecticut?

   Connecticut licensed home day care providers must submit a medical examination and police recod check, be interviewed and have homes inspected by the Department of Public Health, must have a first aid kit, working smoke detectors, and fireextinguishers, and they must have a current first aid certification.
