A car cannot run when it runs out of gas. A water dispenser cannot dispense water when the water is empty. You cannot pour out your best inspirational messages to students when you are on empty. Most educators are givers, giving to everyone. You help students. You help co-workers. You help parents. Those are good things you do. However, there are times you also need to help yourself.
